Standard Chartered (STANCHART) repurchases 0.36 million shares on 10 September, lifting buy-back total to 1.53% of share capital

Standard Chartered PLC (STANCHART) disclosed that it repurchased 358,042 ordinary shares on 10 September 2026 across three European trading venues, spending GBP 8.12 million in aggregate.

• Venue and pricing – London Stock Exchange: 250,630 shares bought at between GBP 22.42 and GBP 22.88, costing GBP 5.69 million. – Cboe BXE: 35,804 shares at GBP 22.41–22.86, for GBP 0.81 million. – Cboe CXE: 71,608 shares at GBP 22.40–22.87, for GBP 1.62 million.

• Capital impact – The 358,042 shares represent 0.0164 % of the bank’s 2.18 billion issued shares (excluding treasury shares). – All repurchased shares are intended for cancellation; no shares were held as treasury stock. – Post-transaction, the company’s issued share count remains at 2.18 billion, as cancellation is pending.

• Progress under 2026 buy-back mandate – The current mandate, approved on 7 May 2026, authorises purchases of up to 221.63 million shares. – Since that authorisation, Standard Chartered has acquired 33.97 million shares, equivalent to 1.53 % of the share capital outstanding at the mandate date.

The bank confirmed that all repurchases complied with listing rules and were fully funded, with no new share issues permitted for 30 days following the latest buy-back in accordance with regulatory requirements.
