The surge follows the company's announcement that it has appointed Zhao Hao, an Assistant Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Tsinghua University Institute for AI Industry Research (AIR) and a BAAI Scholar, as the Chief Scientist of its embodied intelligence subsidiary. This move aims to tackle the application challenges of physical AI in unstructured environments by introducing top-tier academic expertise, thereby building core technological leadership. It is also a clear signal of GEEKPLUS-W's continued increased investment in embodied intelligence R&D. Public information indicates that Tsinghua University is a central hub in China's current embodied intelligence academic landscape. Zhao Hao, along with scholars Gao Yang, Xu Huazhe, Chen Jianyu, and Zhao Hang from the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences (Yao Class), are collectively referred to by the industry as the "Tsinghua Embodied Intelligence Elite."
