华纳兄弟探索公司（ WARNER BROS DISCOVERY INC ）已同意暂时重启与好莱坞竞争对手派拉蒙斯卡丹斯公司（ Paramount Skydance Corp ）的出售谈判，为可能出现的与奈飞公司的第二轮竞购战奠定了基础。
根据周二的一份声明，华纳兄弟与流媒体巨头奈飞达成了豁免协议，允许其与派拉蒙进行为期七天的接触，商讨对方最新报价的条款。这一决定是在派拉蒙的一位银行家告知华纳兄弟董事会成员，如果华纳兄弟同意重启谈判，派拉蒙将至少出价每股31美元之后做出的。这比派拉蒙上一次的报价每股高出1美元。派拉蒙还表示，当前的出价并非其"最佳及最终"报价。
华纳兄弟表示，董事会仍一致建议股东投票赞成其具有约束力的协议，即以每股27.75美元的价格将其同名工作室和HBO Max流媒体业务出售给奈飞。该公司已安排于3月20日就奈飞交易举行股东投票。
华纳兄弟首席执行官戴维·扎斯拉夫在声明中表示："在整个过程中，我们唯一的关注点一直是为华纳兄弟探索的股东实现价值最大化和确定性最大化。"
重启与派拉蒙谈判的决定是在这家主动提出收购的竞购方于2月10日提交了修改后的报价之后做出的，该报价解决了华纳兄弟董事会关心的几个关键问题。
