Hospital Corporation of China Limited (HOSPITAL CORP) published its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, detailing progress against a five-pillar sustainability strategy—Enhanced Governance, Service Excellence, Innovation Development, Diversity & Inclusion, and Low-carbon Operations.

Key 2025 performance highlights:

• Carbon footprint Total greenhouse-gas emissions fell to 12,483.66 tCO₂e, an intensity of 8.49 tCO₂e per million RMB revenue. Both Scope 1 and Scope 2 intensities met the Group’s 2030 target of a 3% cut versus the 2022 baseline ahead of schedule.

• Energy use Total consumption reached 24,937.99 MWh, or 16.95 MWh per million RMB revenue, also achieving the 2030 energy-intensity reduction goal five years early through high-efficiency equipment upgrades and stricter monitoring.

• Water management Water usage totalled 467,337 m³ (317.70 m³ per million RMB revenue). Phase-specific fluctuations lifted intensity year-on-year, and water-saving retrofits have been prioritised to meet the 5% reduction target by 2030.

• Waste control Hazardous medical waste amounted to 507.27 tonnes (0.34 t per million RMB revenue); non-hazardous waste was 1,601.97 tonnes (0.72 t per million RMB revenue). Expanded recycling and stricter supplier screening underpin a 5% waste-intensity reduction goal for 2030.

Human capital metrics:

• Workforce 3,157 full-time employees; women represent 68.1%. Staff turnover was contained at 6%.

• Training 99.97% of employees received training, averaging 36.02 hours each. Anti-corruption instruction totalled 14,837.30 hours across 23,755 person-times; no corruption cases were reported.

• Safety Zero work-related fatalities for a fourth consecutive year; 110 working days lost due to injury.

Service and community impact:

• Medical quality No major safety liability incidents or regulatory penalties recorded. Hospitals logged 12,341 hours of safety training and expanded specialty disciplines in neurology, orthopaedics, oncology and geriatrics.

• Universal healthcare Network now spans Shanghai and multiple Zhejiang cities, with 45 community free-clinic events and over 4,000 home-care visits recorded.

• Social investment Public donations exceeded RMB 0.58 million; volunteers contributed 13,958 hours and donated 71.93 litres of blood.

Governance and targets:

• Oversight rests with the Board and a cross-functional ESG Working Group that manages a closed-loop system of goal-setting, process control and performance review.

• 2030 environmental commitments: cut GHG and energy intensities by 3%, water and non-hazardous waste intensities by 5% from 2022 levels. Progress will be reviewed annually.

HOSPITAL CORP reports 2025 revenue of RMB 1.47 billion and positions its integrated ESG framework as a foundation for resilient, high-quality growth in China’s healthcare sector.
