TANWAN (09890) Signs Exclusive Licensing Agreement with Chengdu Mowankar for Garfield Family IP Distribution and Operations

TANWAN (09890) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Guangzhou Liliyo Culture and Entertainment Co., Ltd. (Liliyo) has signed the "GARFIELD Family IP Licensing Agreement" with Chengdu Mowankar Culture Communication Co., Ltd. (Chengdu Mowankar).

According to the licensing agreement, as the exclusive master licensee for derivatives of "THE GARFIELD MOVIE" film IP (Garfield Family IP) in Greater China (including Mainland China and Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), Chengdu Mowankar will grant Liliyo "exclusive licensing rights" for the development and sales of non-functional collectible three-dimensional items including figurines, blind boxes, sculptures, building blocks, and plush products. The licensing period runs from September 1, 2025 to May 17, 2030.

Chengdu Mowankar will collaborate with Liliyo to jointly develop and operate the Garfield Family IP ecosystem community. Additionally, Liliyo and Chengdu Mowankar have reached preliminary cooperation intentions regarding the design, development, adaptation of gaming products, and distribution and operation rights authorization for the Garfield Family IP licensing targets.

The Garfield Family IP originates from the serialized comic "Garfield" created by American Jim Davis in 1978. Garfield's personality of "speaking the truth and doing what he wants" allows audiences to release stress and gain psychological comfort through laughter, making the comic series an instant global phenomenon upon its debut. As a global classic IP with over 40 years of history, Garfield has nearly 300 million IP fans worldwide and has created market value exceeding $10 billion.

"THE GARFIELD MOVIE" (Garfield Family) is a feature-length animated film jointly invested and produced by Starlight Film & Television Culture Industry Development (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and Project G Productions LLC, which was released globally in summer 2024. Chengdu Mowankar serves as the exclusive master licensee for Garfield Family IP derivatives in Greater China, holding 5-year full-category licensing rights, sub-licensing rights, and rights for commercialization, design, manufacturing, operations, sales, and services.

The company stated that successfully obtaining exclusive distribution and operation authorization for the internationally renowned Garfield Family IP marks an important breakthrough in the company's IP ecosystem strategic layout. This collaboration will fully leverage Garfield's powerful influence as a global classic IP, helping the group rapidly enter the collectibles market and reach multi-generational user demographics. The IP's inherent global recognition and topical appeal will provide natural traffic advantages for marketing activities, effectively enhancing brand exposure and market reputation.

Furthermore, the group will build a complete physical product line, not only expanding diversified revenue sources but also achieving bidirectional empowerment and synergistic development between the collectibles business and core gaming business through innovative forms such as IP collaboration and content co-creation, further strengthening the group's core competitiveness and IP operation capabilities in the digital entertainment sector. The appeal of the classic Garfield Family IP helps lay the foundation for future cross-industry collaborations and long-term pan-entertainment ecosystem construction.

In the strategic planning for the collectibles segment, the group focuses on the "IP ecosystem strategy" core, with "illuminating daily life with creativity and fun" as its brand value proposition. Through its collectibles brand TANWAN, it systematically advances value mining and diversified development of its gaming IPs, continuously expanding collectibles layout.

The group entered the collectibles market in 2021 with its proprietary IP "BRO KOOLI." In 2025, the group's collectibles business welcomed strategic upgrades: establishing a new collectibles business team, launching experimental vinyl plush collectible figures "CASHY BABY," planning to launch the industry's first hydrogel element collectibles IP "LILIA ANGEL," signing exclusive distribution and operation agreements for the internationally renowned Garfield Family IP three-dimensional products, and introducing lifestyle trend product lines.
