Oil prices are set to increase starting tonight, following the latest official announcement. Based on calculations from the current pricing mechanism, the ex-factory prices for gasoline and diesel are slated to rise, though the actual increase will be moderated by temporary control measures designed to lessen the impact on the domestic market.

Since the last adjustment on August 28, escalating tensions between the US and Iran have driven international crude oil prices to surge continuously, with notable abnormal spikes observed in the Middle East. To buffer the domestic economy and safeguard people's livelihoods from the sharp jump in global oil costs, the government has decided to implement temporary measures while maintaining the existing pricing framework.

Under these temporary controls, the price per tonne for standard gasoline will rise by 260 yuan, down from the initially calculated increase of 435 yuan. Similarly, the price for standard diesel will go up by 250 yuan per tonne, compared to the initially calculated hike of 420 yuan. This adjusted increase reflects the government's effort to stabilize prices.

Authorities have directed fuel production and sales companies to optimize output and logistics to guarantee ample market supply. Additionally, intensified market oversight will be enforced to crack down on any illegal activities, such as failing to comply with national pricing policies, thereby ensuring order and protecting consumer interests.
