CLSA has released a research report stating that, according to reports, China plans to invest approximately $2.95 trillion over the next five years to construct artificial intelligence data centers (AIDCs) across the country.
The firm estimates this initiative could generate potential new demand for up to 125 GWh of energy storage batteries in China over the next five years, equivalent to a quarter of the forecasted domestic energy storage demand for this year.
CLSA believes this development provides a significant boost for Chinese battery-related stocks, and recent price corrections present an opportunity for investors to buy on dips.
Regarding stock recommendations within the sector, the firm's top preference is CATL (03750), followed in order by Sigenergy (06656), CALB (03931), REPT BATTERO (00666), and Gotion High-tech (002074.SZ).
