The sharp increase follows a filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on June 23rd, which revealed that Goldpalm Offshore Limited purchased 82.96 million ordinary shares of IMAGI International on April 18th at an average price of HK$2.70 per share, involving approximately HK$224 million. Recent Management and Shareholder Changes

The recent strength in IMAGI International's share price follows earlier developments. In April this year, the company announced that Han Xuyang acquired 142 million shares from Weihuada Holdings, resulting in a 17.10% stake. This made him a major shareholder, the single largest shareholder, and led to his appointment as Chairman of the Board and Executive Director.

Han Xuyang holds a Master of Science from the University of Oxford and a Juris Doctor from the University of Hong Kong. He previously worked at the international law firm Sullivan & Cromwell, focusing on capital markets, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions. Since 2022, he has served as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of China Ventures, where he was involved in facilitating its privatization.

Market Expectations and Business Focus

The market perceives that with Han Xuyang's involvement, expectations for capital operations and business integration at IMAGI International have significantly increased. The company is currently primarily engaged in integrated financial services, investment holding, CGI, and entertainment businesses. Its financial services encompass securities brokerage, margin financing, and asset management.

Concurrently, the company retains a foundation of animation film and related IP assets, including properties like "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "Astro Boy." With the entry of new major shareholders and changes in management, the potential for integration along the company's two main axes—"financial services + entertainment assets"—has become a key focus for market observers.
