Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited on May, 22 2026 released its Interim Management Statement, saying its portfolio delivered a first-quarter performance marginally ahead of expectations and broadly in line with the same period a year earlier after adjusting for completed disposals.

The group left full-year profit guidance unchanged and said it expects to pay a 2026 dividend of at least US$2.45 a share, representing a 4% increase from 2025.

During the quarter Jardine Matheson and its portfolio companies recycled US$0.8 billion of capital and reinvested US$1.2 billion, while the parent company balance sheet remained in a net-cash position.

The company appointed Irene Liu as Managing Director, Investments in April; she has also joined the boards of DFI Retail Group and Mandarin Oriental. Corporate overheads have been reduced by about 15% compared with 2024.

Among portfolio companies, Astra’s first-quarter net profit fell 8% on lower earnings from the new-car segment and United Tractors, which was affected by the continued stoppage of the Martabe gold mine. Hongkong Land’s underlying profit rose 5%; it launched its first private real-estate fund in Singapore with 8.2 billion Singapore dollars of assets under management, targets 15 billion Singapore dollars within five years, and bought a 10.8% stake in Suntec REIT for 541 million Singapore dollars.

DFI Retail Group recorded a 13% rise in underlying profit and reaffirmed guidance for 2026. Mandarin Oriental saw weaker results from owned hotels but added four new management contracts and was fully privatised by Jardine Matheson in January. Jardine Cycle & Carriage sold a 3.5% stake in Vinamilk for US$188 million and half of its Toyota Motor Corporation holding for US$146 million.

As of May, 22 Jardine Matheson had repurchased US$233 million of the US$250 million share buy-back authorised in November 2025; buy-backs are also under way at Hongkong Land, Astra and United Tractors.
