On the evening of September 25th, at the 2025 Lei Jun Annual Speech event, Lei Jun, Chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group, delivered a keynote presentation.

When discussing the comparison between Xiaomi YU7 and Tesla Model Y, Lei Jun revealed that the company purchased three Tesla Model Y vehicles for disassembly analysis earlier this year, acknowledging it as a good car. "If consumers don't choose the Xiaomi YU7, they can opt for the Model Y. Tomorrow's Li Auto i6 launch is also worth watching," he stated.

Lei Jun's comments highlight the competitive landscape in the electric vehicle market, with Xiaomi positioning its YU7 model alongside established players like Tesla and emerging competitors such as Li Auto. The statement reflects a candid assessment of market alternatives as Xiaomi continues to develop its automotive business segment.

The remarks came during Lei Jun's annual address, where he typically outlines strategic directions and market perspectives for Xiaomi Group's various business units, including its expansion into the electric vehicle sector.
