Hong Kong Dollar Interbank Rates Show Mixed Movement as One-Month Rate Edges Up

Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates displayed a mixed performance on September 11, with short-term and long-term tenors moving in opposite directions amid fluctuating liquidity conditions.

The one-month interbank rate, closely linked to mortgage pricing, rose by 0.214 basis points to 2.87964%, while the three-month rate, which reflects bank funding costs, climbed 1.137 basis points to 3.06137%.

In contrast, the overnight rate slipped 7.416 basis points to 2.27560%, and the one-week rate eased 0.369 basis points to 2.45619%. The two-week rate also decreased by 6.012 basis points, settling at 2.51351%, while the two-month rate inched down 0.035 basis points to 2.97054%.

Looking at longer tenors, the six-month rate advanced 2.036 basis points to 3.25000%, and the one-year rate gained 2.392 basis points to reach 3.58815%, reflecting persistent demand for longer-duration funding.
