XPeng Inc. Chairman He Xiaopeng stated today on Weibo that over the past month, the company has conducted intensive testing of its second-generation VLA. The most profound impression is that it possesses an intuition reminiscent of an "experienced driver," representing a cross-generational level of experience—making the future feel within reach.

He also mentioned that from mapped to mapless navigation, from rule-driven systems to end-to-end mass production, and now to the new paradigm of the second-generation VLA, XPeng has consistently explored and led in technological innovation. On March 2, the company anticipates ushering in what it calls the "DeepSeek moment" for the intelligent driving sector. He revealed that Volkswagen will be the first customer for XPeng's second-generation VLA model.

He Xiaopeng emphasized that technology must ultimately serve users. With the second-generation VLA entering the "mass production phase," the goal is to make high-level intelligent assisted driving a standard feature that everyone can easily trust. Key questions driving development include: Can drivers feel confident enough to take their hands off the wheel at night? Will new drivers feel fatigued? Is it possible to achieve both safety and efficiency? These real-world scenarios form the foundation and ultimate objective of the research and development.

Additionally, on March 2, the 2026 XPeng X9 all-electric version equipped with the second-generation VLA will also be unveiled simultaneously.
