Companies are now booking freight vehicles as effortlessly as hailing a ride-hailing service, with significant cost reductions and faster turnaround times.
"When we place an order for a logistics vehicle on the Yilanwang shared logistics platform, the truck arrives at our factory for loading within two hours, and our costs drop by 2.6%," said Li Xiaomei, logistics manager at Ningjin County Hongliang Copper Co., Ltd. The convenience of this system mirrors the simplicity of booking a taxi through a mobile app.
Logistics serves as the critical link between production and consumption, and its efficiency and cost directly influence the competitiveness of local industries. In recent years, the city has been actively exploring shared logistics models, including online order placement, multimodal transport, and public warehousing, to foster a collaborative logistics ecosystem that helps businesses reduce costs and boost operational efficiency, thereby upgrading industrial clusters.
"Our research shows that logistics costs account for an average of about 10% of total production costs in the wire and cable industry," said Wu Zhaogan, a party group member of the Ningjin County Development and Reform Bureau. Under the traditional logistics model, a lack of information symmetry between vehicles and cargo leads to extended search times for companies and high rates of empty truck returns, keeping logistics expenses stubbornly high. To address this, the bureau has guided related enterprises to build shared online logistics platforms that break down information barriers and enable the intensive allocation of transport resources.
"In response to the county's policy guidance, we introduced a shared logistics module on the Yilanwang platform, aggregating over 3,000 compliant freight vehicles from major logistics companies across the country, forming a transport network covering key national routes," explained Liang Xiaona, a representative from Yilanwang. The platform rigorously reviews all enrolled transport resources and leverages big data and artificial intelligence algorithms to build an intelligent matching system that significantly enhances efficiency.
"Our county's bearing products are sold to more than 90 countries and regions, and the high cost of cross-border transportation has long been a bottleneck for industrial growth," noted Ge Zhitao, general manager of Linfa Group. In partnership with Hebei Provincial International Land Port Co., Ltd., they jointly established Hebei Land Port Linfa Logistics Co., Ltd., and set up an export consolidation warehouse in Linxi. Goods from multiple bearing factories are collected and consolidated into a single container at the Linxi warehouse, then transported by road to the China-Europe Railway Express (Shijiazhuang) assembly center for international shipment via multimodal transport. Compared with traditional models, this consolidation and multimodal approach saves 1.5 days in short-haul transit and reduces freight costs by 5 yuan per ton, while cutting transport time in half relative to maritime shipping.
At the Hebei Runwo Smart Logistics (Xingtai) Industrial Park shared warehouse in Nanhe District, automated weighing and sorting machines operate at full capacity, loading packages for nationwide dispatch. "From order receipt to outbound delivery, the entire process takes just 30 minutes," said Shen Pengguang, a representative of the logistics park. To address the challenges of scattered warehousing, slow delivery, and high logistics costs faced by enterprises in the district's pet food industry cluster, they developed a shared-plus-smart warehousing system. Products from cluster companies can be stored in the shared warehouse immediately after production, where orders are fulfilled through consolidated shipping and dispatched from the nearest location, cutting warehousing and logistics costs by 8%.
