"In 2025, the Tongchuan Performing Arts Center will focus on three core tasks: cultural benefits for the people, heritage inheritance, and the creation of high-quality works. We will go all out and work diligently to build a solid foundation for cultural development with tangible achievements, making the flower of art bloom in vibrant colors." During the Fifth Session of the 15th Tongchuan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Bi Jiangbo, a member of the Municipal Committee and General Manager of the Tongchuan Performing Arts Center, was interviewed.
Bi Jiangbo stated that on the path of providing cultural benefits to the people, we should always keep the needs of the masses in mind, making cultural welfare easily accessible. We will ensure that various benefit performances reach every corner of urban and rural areas, delivering wonderful cultural programs to the fields and community squares, allowing the warm current of culture to nourish the hearts of every citizen. By introducing and staging high-quality domestic and international productions, we aim to attract audiences into theaters, revitalize Tongchuan's theater scene, establish a cultural highland, and enable citizens to enjoy a series of high-quality cultural feasts right at their doorstep, tangibly enhancing their sense of cultural participation and happiness.
Bi Jiangbo expressed the need to deeply tap into the valuable resources of the Tongchuan Qinqiang Opera Troupe, allowing this ancient art form to shine brightly in the new era. By carefully selecting classic repertoire with a strong popular foundation and high artistic value, and restaging performances following the principle of "repairing the old as old + adapting to the contemporary," we can preserve the core charm of traditional art while making appropriate innovations that align with modern aesthetics, giving old plays a new and flavorful appeal. Promotion methods must keep pace with the times; we can livestream classic Qinqiang arias, explanations of opera knowledge, and behind-the-scenes rehearsal footage, launching themed broadcasts such as "Appreciation of Classic Qinqiang Arias," "Talent Showcases for Young Actors," and "Online Interaction for Opera Fans," attracting a large number of young netizens and making Tongchuan's traditional culture popular in cyberspace, highlighting the city's profound cultural heritage.
"Amidst the city's favorable atmosphere for cultural development, the Tongchuan Performing Arts Center will base itself on its own positioning and advance towards higher goals. We will make every effort to prepare for the 11th Shaanxi Provincial Art Festival, meticulously refine outstanding works, and strive to showcase the unique style of Tongchuan's arts and culture at the festival, winning glory for the city. Simultaneously, we will continue to enrich the supply of art to meet the diverse cultural needs of citizens. On one hand, we will increase the introduction of excellent external productions, widely bringing in high-quality repertoire of different types and styles, allowing Tongchuan audiences to access more diverse and cutting-edge art. On the other hand, we will continue to deeply cultivate local creations, focusing on contemporary themes and Tongchuan's characteristics, excavating more high-quality cultural materials, and producing artistic masterpieces that bear the imprint of Tongchuan and reflect the connotations of the times, making everyone's sense of cultural gain increasingly stronger," Bi Jiangbo stated.
