On Tuesday, two key Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives demanded that David Ellison, CEO of Paramount, disclose whether he or the company had ever suggested altering CNN's coverage of former President Donald Trump as a condition for approving its merger with Warner Bros. Discovery.
"It is evident that President Trump expects your potential acquisition of Warner to yield favorable media coverage for him and his allies," Representatives Jamie Raskin and Frank Pallone wrote in a letter. "A merger between Paramount and Warner would dangerously concentrate media power into a single entity and place more independent voices under the influence of the president."
