Starting October 10, Sanya Phoenix International Airport (hereinafter referred to as "Sanya Airport"), under the auspices of Hainan Holdings, will resume the fifth-freedom passenger route "Phnom Penh⇌Sanya⇌Singapore" operated by Cambodia Airways, as well as the "Sanya⇌Kuala Lumpur" route operated by Batik Air, further enhancing Sanya's international air network oriented toward ASEAN.
The "Phnom Penh⇌Sanya⇌Singapore" route will operate two flights per week. The inbound flight from Phnom Penh, designated KR9755, will land in Sanya at 11:30 every Tuesday and Saturday, then depart at 12:30 for Singapore. The return inbound flight from Singapore, designated KR9756, will land in Sanya at 19:45, then depart at 20:45 back to Phnom Penh. This route is a fifth-freedom route, enabling passenger connectivity among Phnom Penh in Cambodia, Sanya in China, and Singapore, and will greatly facilitate economic, trade, tourism, and personnel exchanges among the three countries.
The "Sanya⇌Kuala Lumpur" route currently operates one flight per week on Saturdays, and will increase to two flights per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays after the schedule change. The inbound flight, designated OD630, departs Kuala Lumpur at 17:45 and arrives in Sanya at 20:55. The outbound flight, designated OD631, departs Sanya at 22:05 and returns to Kuala Lumpur at 01:25 the following day. This route establishes a convenient air bridge between Sanya and the capital of Malaysia, and, supported by the mutual visa exemption policy between China and Malaysia, provides strong transportation support for cultural and tourism exchanges and business travel between the two regions.
In addition, Firefly plans to launch the "Sanya⇌Kuala Lumpur" route on October 14, and Juneyao Airlines plans to resume the "Sanya⇌Ulaanbaatar" route starting November 3, strengthening Sanya's function as a secondary hub as a regional gateway to the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and broadening channels for customer source markets in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia.
