根据周五晚间公布的美国国税局数据，本年度个人所得税申报季起步较去年放缓，初期申报表提交数量减少，而退税金额则有所上升。
截至2月6日，国税局已收到2240万份纳税申报表，较去年同期下降5.2%。目前平均退税额为2290美元，同比增幅达10.9%。
由于今年退税包含了去年国会通过的大部分减税措施，特朗普总统与共和党人一直将其宣传为重要的经济刺激手段。
申报季于1月26日启动，现阶段数据尚不足以反映整个税季的全貌。税法要求国税局暂缓向数百万低收入家庭发放退税，且纳税人仍处于适应新税法的过渡阶段。
国税局在随数据发布的声明中强调："本申报季整体运行稳健，退税工作正按计划持续推进。"
