Contel Technology Reports Public Float at 23.66%, Targets Regulatory Compliance by 6 November 2026

Contel Technology Company Limited (Contel) released its monthly update on public float, confirming that 109.13 million shares—representing 23.66% of its issued share capital—were held by public shareholders as of 2 October 2026. The level remains below the 25% minimum stipulated under Hong Kong Listing Rule 13.32B.

The update follows the composite offer document dated 21 August 2026, the results announcement on 11 September 2026, and a waiver granted on 23 September 2026 permitting temporary non-compliance with the public-float requirement. Since the closing of the offer, controlling shareholder Zhuangyan Investment International Limited has not disposed of any shares but continues to track trading activity and pricing to determine an appropriate divestment strategy.

Contel reiterated that the controlling shareholder plans to restore compliance by selling shares through on-market transactions and, if necessary, via a placing agent. The company anticipates regaining at least a 25% public float by 6 November 2026.

Until full compliance is achieved, Contel stated it will meet all disclosure obligations and avoid any actions that could further reduce the public float. The board currently comprises Executive Directors Lee Byungduck (Chairman) and Chong Ka Yee, alongside Independent Non-Executive Directors Tseung Yuk Hei Kenneth, Lu Zhuo, and Li Wei.
