Honghe Prefecture has achieved multiple honors at the Yunnan Provincial Ethnic Folk Song and Dance Performance. The 14th edition of the event, held from September 26 to 29 in Kunming, brought together over 1,200 performers from 16 prefectures (cities) across the province, showcasing 74 intangible cultural heritage (ICH) programs spanning vocal music, dance, and instrumental music. The four-day event featured a dual format of "professional performances + public benefit shows," presenting a feast of heritage and innovation. Awards included gold, silver, bronze, excellence, and organizational prizes, with the highest honor—the Heritage Award—recognizing the preservation of ICH roots. On December 8, the winners were officially announced. Honghe Prefecture stood out, with the traditional vocal piece "Axi Xianji · Narration" winning the Heritage Award, while "Lezuo Suite," "Hua Wowo," and "Guai Deng" secured bronze medals. The Honghe Prefecture Culture and Tourism Bureau also received the Excellence in Organization Award.

In another development, four scenic spots in Honghe Prefecture have met the criteria for National AAA-Level Tourist Attractions. Following preliminary evaluations by the culture and tourism bureaus of Mengzi City, Jianshui County, and Lvchun County, the Honghe Prefecture Culture and Tourism Bureau conducted a formal assessment. The proposed sites—Mengzi Chinese Bear Culture Expo Park, Jianshui Purple Pottery Museum, Lvchun Xiaba Time, and Lvchun Yunshang Miko Scenic Area—are now under public review from December 12 to December 19, 2025.

Additionally, Honghe Prefecture has announced a list of 37 recommended candidates for its seventh batch of prefecture-level ICH representative projects. After a rigorous review process involving expert evaluations and inter-departmental consultations, the final selection is now open for public feedback until December 26, 2025.

Meanwhile, the "Love in Yunnan · Fall for Honghe" destination wedding promotion event took place on December 9 at the Dongfengyun Art Town in Mile City—a romantic landmark at an elevation of 1,314 meters. The event, co-hosted by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the China Culture Media Group, invited couples to experience Honghe’s natural beauty and cultural charm as the perfect backdrop for weddings. Attendees included wedding industry experts, planners, and media representatives, who enjoyed performances like "Axi Jumping Moon" and other ethnic songs and dances, immersing themselves in Honghe’s unique cultural ambiance.
