On September 1, Byd Company Limited released its production and sales figures for August 2026, revealing that monthly sales of new energy vehicles surpassed 440,000 units, once again securing the top spot among Chinese automakers and claiming the crown in new energy vehicle sales. This marks the 63rd consecutive month that BYD has led China's monthly new energy vehicle sales rankings. Based on sales data published by mainstream automakers, BYD's August NEV sales outpaced the runner-up by nearly 250,000 units, translating hardcore technological advantages into tangible results and cementing its dominant position in the industry.

The Dynasty and Ocean series continued to deliver stable market performance in August, with a balanced sales contribution from both new and established models. The Tang EV surpassed 10,000 units for the second straight month, while the newly launched Qin MAX topped 10,000 units. The Yuan family moved 84,000 units, the Seal family recorded 47,000 units, and all three series within the Sea Lion family each exceeded 10,000 monthly sales.

Overseas markets emerged as a standout growth driver during the month. In August, BYD sold 189,000 passenger vehicles and pickups abroad, marking a 134.6% year-on-year surge and an increase of more than 100,000 units compared to the same period last year. This represents the fifth consecutive month that overseas sales have hit a new record. Cumulative overseas sales from January to August reached 1.158 million units, already surpassing the full-year 2025 overseas volume of 1.0496 million units. Models such as the Yuan UP, Dolphin family, and Song PLUS continued to serve as the primary contributors to BYD's overseas performance.

Premium brands are also contributing greater sales volume. In August, Fangchengbao and Denza together sold 58,000 units, more than doubling the figure from the same month last year. Fangchengbao delivered 42,000 units, up 155.6% year-on-year, and its single-month volume in August outpaced brands like Zeekr, Li Auto, AITO, and Xiaomi, making it the top-selling new-force brand with an average price above 200,000 yuan. Denza sold 16,000 units, representing a 33.4% year-on-year increase. As premium brand sales climb, the overall quality of BYD's total volume is improving accordingly.

In March of this year, BYD unveiled its second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology, capable of achieving "5 minutes to full charge and 9 minutes to fully replenished" under normal ambient conditions, with charging time in minus 30 degrees Celsius conditions increasing by just 3 minutes. As of August 28, BYD had built a cumulative total of 10,000 flash-charging stations covering 332 cities, with multiple new models equipped with the technology already on the market, expanding both technical coverage and the charging network.

Recently, the Denza Z9S and Han EV have opened pre-sales, while the Sea Lion 08, Denza N8L pure electric version, and Fangcheng S series are scheduled to hit the market in September. The third-generation Tang, Titanium 9, and other new models are also slated for upcoming launches. These vehicles are expected to cater to diverse consumer expectations for flash-charging models, providing strong product support for sales growth in the second half of the year.

With rapid growth in overseas markets, continued expansion of premium brand volume, and stable performance from core products, BYD's scale advantage is widening further. This trend also reflects the steadily rising competitiveness of China's new energy vehicle industry on the global stage.
