Since the start of this year, the Guizhou Provincial Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Group has been tackling the challenge faced by local quality agricultural, light industrial, and specialty consumer goods: "having good products but no channels, wanting to go global but not daring to take the first step." To address this, the group is aligning with the province's goal of building a new highland for an inland open economy. Based in Guizhou's interior, it focuses on differentiated, specialized, and precise development, providing strong support for the province's export-oriented economy by strengthening systems, empowering industries, and opening up trade routes. From January to July 2026, the group achieved an import and export volume of 2.109 billion yuan.

Establishing a Comprehensive Foreign Trade Service Network

The Guizhou Foreign Trade Group, in partnership with UnionPay Business Guizhou Branch, has built a "1+9+N" foreign trade comprehensive service system. This system uses the Guizhou Foreign Trade Public Service Cloud Platform as its digital core. It has established physical foreign trade service stations in all nine of Guizhou's cities and prefectures, connecting with N industrial parks, key enterprises, and other grassroots touchpoints. By providing digital hub services and achieving full-coverage service across Guizhou, it has created a three-dimensional service network that combines points, lines, and areas, linking provincial, city, and county levels, and fostering a full ecosystem of collaboration. The goal is to cultivate local foreign trade entities and provide customized, precise services to promote Guizhou products overseas. Currently, the system has fully covered service stations in all nine cities and prefectures, attracting 66 enterprises and nearly 400 types of Guizhou specialty products to the online cloud platform.

Precisely Empowering Local Specialty Products for Export

The Guizhou Foreign Trade Group conducted research and surveys at 269 enterprises across the province, identifying over a thousand products with export potential and establishing a detailed enterprise information ledger and demand list. It offers three types of customized services for different product categories and target markets: First, it helps enterprises optimize products, packaging, and traceability systems according to international standards to solve the "standards mismatch" issue. Second, it integrates resources from international procurement channels, overseas supermarkets, and cross-border e-commerce platforms to connect enterprises with foreign buyers, solving the "unclear channel" problem. Third, it coordinates "one-stop" services across the entire logistics, customs declaration, foreign exchange settlement, and tax rebate chain, significantly lowering the operational threshold for foreign trade. The group has successfully facilitated the export of a range of Guizhou specialty products, such as Anshun batik, Hezhang Kele pig bacon, Tongren tea, Bijie sea buckthorn, and Qianxinan sturgeon, to markets in Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Hong Kong, Macau, and France. From January to July 2026, the group realized a transshipment volume of 24.2669 million yuan.

Forging Low-Cost, Fast International Logistics Corridors

To alleviate the practical difficulties of high logistics costs and slow transportation for exports from landlocked Guizhou, the group is leveraging national logistics corridors including the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, China-Europe Railway Express, international air freight, and river-sea intermodal transport. It aggregates scattered foreign trade freight demand across the province to create economies of scale, negotiating prices and securing cargo space collectively to directly lower per-unit logistics costs. By establishing overseas warehouses and storage distribution centers at coastal ports and border crossings, it reduces transit links and shortens transport times. The group also works with customs and port authorities to optimize customs clearance procedures, implementing convenient measures like "advance declaration and rapid release," to build stable, efficient, and low-cost export routes. This addresses the core pain points of high logistics costs and slow transport times for the inland province.

Upgrading Guizhou's Pillar Industries for Export Orientation

To support the export-oriented upgrade of key industries 鈥?including phosphate chemical products, new energy and energy storage products like new energy vehicles, deep-processed non-ferrous metals like cold-rolled aluminum, and electromechanical and consumer goods such as automobiles and electronic components 鈥?the group is implementing the "13552" development strategy. First, it is vigorously promoting "production-trade integration." With import and export trade supply chain comprehensive services as its core, the group focuses on international trade, foreign economic cooperation, foreign investment utilization, comprehensive foreign trade services, new business formats, and domestic trade. It has established a regular communication and coordination mechanism with provincial state-owned enterprises like Guizhou Aluminum Group, linking with the province's comprehensive bonded zones and industrial parks. This drives the batch export of high-value-added "Made in Guizhou" products such as "Gui'an Screen Core" and new energy storage, promoting "production-trade integration" through the strong alliance of state-owned enterprises. Second, it is helping to upgrade product standards and quality. Leveraging its comprehensive foreign trade service and supply chain coordination advantages, the group precisely targets the export needs of Guizhou's local advantageous industries, like electronic information manufacturing and new energy storage. It promotes these high-end manufactured products to adapt to international certification systems and improve their global competitiveness. Third, the group is expanding export channels and overseas markets. By integrating resources from international buyers, overseas supermarkets, and cross-border e-commerce platforms, it is advancing the layout of overseas nodes like the Central Asia overseas warehouse and the Hong Kong subsidiary. The group is also developing new foreign trade models such as cross-border e-commerce and market procurement. This helps connect Guizhou enterprises with stable overseas customers, deeply embedding the province's advantageous industries into the global industrial and supply chains.
