JINCHUAN INTL Projects Major Profit Surge Driven by Copper Price Rally and New Mine Output

JINCHUAN INTL (02362) has issued a positive profit alert, forecasting a significant turnaround in its financial performance.

The company expects to record a consolidated net profit attributable to shareholders of approximately US$30 million to US$50 million for the six months ending June 30, 2026. This compares sharply with a profit of US$5.5 million reported for the same period in the prior year.

This substantial increase is primarily attributed to a surge in copper product revenue. The revenue boost stems from two key factors: a rise in market copper prices, and increased production volumes from the Musonoi mine, which is the company's third operational mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Musonoi mine commenced production in November 2025, leading to higher overall sales volumes.

While the higher revenue has driven a marked increase in gross profit, the company noted that the commissioning of the Musonoi mine has resulted in higher depreciation and interest costs. This is due to the cessation of capitalization of these costs following the start of production, which partially offsets the overall profit growth.
