Apple Finally Abandons FineWoven Material! iPhone 17 Series Official Cases Revealed: Synthetic Fiber Construction

As the iPhone 17 series launch approaches, official phone cases have been leaked. The new eco-friendly cases finally completely eliminate the widely criticized FineWoven material, adopting new synthetic fiber construction that emphasizes durability and environmental sustainability, while reintroducing the lanyard loop feature.

The FineWoven material, used in iPhone 15 series cases, has faced global user complaints due to numerous issues. Apple introduced FineWoven material to replace leather in accessories, officially claiming this move was "to further reduce environmental impact" because "the fabric production uses 68% post-consumer recycled content with significantly lower carbon emissions than leather."

However, not only was it priced at 479 yuan, but it was extremely prone to wear, discoloration, and peeling, potentially showing "battle damage" effects after just five months of use. Additionally, the material was not dirt-resistant, had poor stain resistance, featured imprecise port modeling that affected third-party cable connectivity, and even Apple Store retail employees complained about needing to replace display cases daily.

The new synthetic fiber material replacing FineWoven has been improved in multiple aspects. Meeting Apple's environmental philosophy, it features a high-tech fabric texture with a rubber-like feel and anti-slip design, significantly enhancing practicality. The new material also shows notable improvements in scratch resistance and sustainability.

Furthermore, the new cases offer matte color options including green, orange, blue, and purple, with an overall style that's more modern and tech-forward. The lanyard loop returns, allowing users to conveniently carry their phones on their wrists or backpacks.

Beyond synthetic fiber cases, Apple is also expected to launch Liquid Glass phone cases. This variant combines high aesthetics with durability, featuring an eye-catching appearance and certain impact resistance capabilities, meeting the needs of consumers seeking both personality and practicality.

Currently, Foxconn in Zhengzhou has begun peak season recruitment, indicating that the iPhone 17 series has entered mass production phase.
