International oil prices surged significantly on March 12. At the close of trading, the price of light crude oil for April delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose by $8.48 to settle at $95.73 per barrel, an increase of 9.72%. The price of Brent crude oil for May delivery increased by $8.48 to settle at $100.46 per barrel, a gain of 9.22%. With international oil prices rising sharply, will domestic fuel prices adjust immediately? According to China National Petroleum Corporation, while the two are related, changes are not synchronized in real time. The next adjustment to domestic refined oil prices is scheduled for March 23 at 24:00. The final outcome of this pricing cycle will be subject to the official announcement from the National Development and Reform Commission.
