Yunnan Province has officially released the registration guidelines for the second half of 2026 National College English Test (CET), with the oral exam scheduled for November 21-22 and the written exam set for December 12.

The announcement, issued by the Yunnan Provincial Admissions and Examination Authority on September 4, outlines the key dates, eligibility criteria, and registration procedures for students across the province.

Test Subjects and Schedule

The oral examination (CET-SET) will take place over two days, with the English Speaking Test Level 4 on November 21 and Level 6 on November 22. The written examination is scheduled for December 12, with the English Level 4 test in the morning and Level 6 in the afternoon.

Eligibility Requirements

For the written test, candidates must be currently enrolled undergraduate or associate degree students at full-time regular or adult higher education institutions, as well as registered graduate students. Students who have completed the College English Level 4 course are eligible to register for the CET-4 exam, while those who have finished the Level 6 course and achieved a score of 425 or above on the CET-4 are qualified for the CET-6 exam.

For the oral test, candidates must first complete the corresponding written test registration. Specifically, students can only register for the CET-SET4 after completing their CET4 written exam registration, and similarly, CET-SET6 registration is only available after completing CET6 written registration. Oral test candidates should register at their written test venue, and cross-institutional registration is generally not permitted.

Registration Timeline and Process

Online registration will be open from 8:00 AM on September 10 to 6:00 PM on September 21, 2026. Each test center will announce its specific registration window within this period. The registration process involves creating a user account on the online registration system, verifying eligibility, confirming personal information, selecting the language level, and completing payment.

If all seats are taken, candidates may opt for the waitlist option. The system will automatically fill vacancies or newly added seats in order of the waitlist. Candidates are advised to monitor their waitlist status regularly and complete payment promptly once selected. Those who fail to secure a spot through the waitlist will not receive separate notification.

Examination Timetable

The oral English test for CET-SET4 will be held on November 21 (Session F263), while CET-SET6 oral exams take place on November 22 (Session S264). Specific session arrangements will be published by individual test centers.

Admission Ticket Printing

Candidates are required to print their admission tickets online themselves. Ticket printing for the oral exam begins at 9:00 AM on November 17, while written exam tickets become available for printing from 9:00 AM on December 1.

Score Reports

In line with green and sustainable development initiatives and to advance digital transformation in education examinations, paper score reports will be discontinued starting from the first half of 2026. Ten working days after results are released, candidates can access and download their electronic score reports from the China Education Examinations Network. The electronic reports carry the same validity as the previous paper versions.
