Baoding's market regulatory authorities have issued the second batch of representative intellectual property case studies for 2026.

Since the start of 2026, the Baoding Market Supervision and Administration Bureau has actively supported the development of a unified national market, continuously worked to standardize market operations, improve the business environment, and rigorously cracked down on various intellectual property infringement violations, handling multiple related illegal cases according to law. To deter illegal activities and warn businesses and producers, a selection of representative cases with significant social impact are now being published.

Case 01: Baoding Market Supervision and Administration Bureau (Intellectual Property Office) Handles "Insole (40)" Patent Infringement Dispute

Applicant Fu filed an administrative complaint with the Baoding Bureau regarding a patent infringement dispute over the sale of products allegedly infringing his design patent "Insole (40)" (Patent No.: ZL202230447155.5). After investigation, the Baoding Bureau determined that patent infringement had occurred. During the proceedings, considering the objective circumstances of the respondent's business operations, the Bureau facilitated a voluntary mediation between the parties. An agreement was reached to resolve the patent infringement dispute. The applicant voluntarily waived the pursuit of legal liability against the respondent, and the two parties separately reached an agreement on distribution cooperation for the patented product, establishing a product distribution partnership.

Case 02: Baoding Market Supervision and Administration Bureau (Intellectual Property Office) Investigates Case of Disrupting Trademark Agency Market Order Through Improper Means

The Baoding Bureau received a case referral from the provincial bureau indicating that a certain intellectual property service company in Baoding had engaged in the illegal act of applying to register identical trademarks on behalf of different clients for identical or similar goods/services. Tang County Bureau received a case transfer letter from Longli County Market Supervision and Administration Bureau. The letter stated that Longli County authorities had seized a quantity of electric kettles and multi-function electric hot pots labeled with "Guangdong Midea Living Appliance Manufacturing Co., Ltd." and the trademarks "midea" and "Midea" at a local warehouse. The owner of the goods was identified as a certain trading company in Tang County. Investigation confirmed the goods infringed upon the exclusive rights of the "midea" registered trademark. The Tang County Bureau ordered the entity to immediately cease the infringement, confiscated the infringing goods and illegal gains, and imposed a fine.

Case 09: Laiyuan County Market Supervision and Administration Bureau (Intellectual Property Office) Investigates Case of Infringing "Arc'teryx" Registered Trademark Exclusive Rights

Laiyuan County Bureau received a report alleging that a store in its jurisdiction was selling children's jackets bearing the "Arc'teryx" registered trademark logo, suspected of infringing trademark exclusive rights. Investigation revealed that the entity, knowing the goods were counterfeit infringing products, had purchased them from a wholesale market outside the province for profit and sold them. This act constituted the illegal sale of goods infringing upon registered trademark exclusive rights. The Laiyuan County Bureau ordered the entity to immediately cease the infringement, confiscated the infringing goods, and imposed a fine.
