Central New Energy (01735) jumped more than 11% in the afternoon session, reaching a historic high of HK$13.22.

As of press time, the stock was up 10.55% at HK$13.1, with turnover of HK$259 million.

On the news front, Central New Energy recently announced plans to change its name to "Central Smart Computing Technology Holdings Group Co., Ltd."

Notably, the company's renaming move is not a simple change of name, but a declaration of strategic focus on the AI smart computing track.

It is understood that in the first half of this year, Central New Energy's AI computing business revenue has exceeded the 1 billion yuan mark, accounting for nearly 20% of total revenue, with its growth logic evolving from being primarily driven by photovoltaic manufacturing to a compound growth model of "new energy + AI + computing power."

The announcement stated that the company is actively seizing the opportunities presented by the rapid market growth of the global artificial intelligence industry, and plans to invest in, build, and operate data centers in the future.
