China Vanke Co.,Ltd. (000002.SZ) shares continued their upward momentum on September 23, extending a remarkable rally. As of the time of writing, the stock traded around 4.00 yuan, up roughly 5%, with an intraday high of 4.19 yuan, briefly hitting the daily limit. This marks the fourth consecutive trading day of notable gains for the company.

Earlier in the week, the stock rose 9.93% on September 18 and another 9.94% on September 21, locking in two straight limit-up sessions. It added a further 4.38% on September 22. Since September 18, the cumulative advance has surpassed 30% across just four trading days.

Amid this share price surge, fresh developments regarding Vanke's debt restructuring have emerged. According to reports on September 22, citing multiple informed sources, regulatory authorities have recently issued informal guidance to certain banks, urging continued support for Vanke. Under this guidance, some overdue loans should not be immediately classified as non-performing, while repayment deadlines for related borrowings would be extended.

The sources indicated that the arrangements are primarily directed at major lenders, particularly state-owned banks. However, it remains unclear how many banks have received such instructions. In addition to extending repayment terms, some banks have reportedly been asked to temporarily defer collecting interest payments owed by Vanke. No definitive timeline has been established for how long overdue loans can remain outside the non-performing category.

As of now, neither the relevant authorities nor Vanke have publicly confirmed these reports.
