Qingdao Port has achieved a significant milestone in port automation technology. During the unloading operations of the vessel "Golden Sky" at Berth 86 of the front port company, three operators successfully controlled six gantry cranes through a "one-to-two" automated mode, completing the unloading of 122,000 tons of iron ore for the entire vessel, with operational efficiency matching manual operations. This breakthrough marks the first time Qingdao Port's dry bulk terminal has achieved "one-controls-two" gantry crane full-ship automated operations, injecting new vitality into dry bulk business development and delivering an intelligent transformation solution to the industry.

Currently, the global port industry is accelerating its upgrade toward intelligence and automation. Dry bulk terminals, as an important component of port logistics systems, face multiple challenges including operational efficiency and safety. Against this backdrop, Qingdao Port has continuously advanced the intelligent transformation of its dry bulk terminals, breaking through key automation technologies for dry bulk equipment and completing automation upgrades for ten major machine types, creating China's first comprehensive dry bulk smart terminal covering all systems, all machine types, and all processes. The successful implementation of this "one-controls-two" gantry crane full-ship automated operation represents another vivid example of Qingdao Port's technology-driven transformation.

According to reports, this operation employed advanced technologies including laser scanning, high-precision positioning, AI visual recognition, and closed-loop anti-sway algorithms, developing a highly reliable intelligent anti-collision system. The system achieved full automation from hatch opening, hatch expansion, to hatch cleaning, establishing a new automated operational model for "one-to-two" gantry crane ship unloading processes.

Moving forward, Qingdao Port will leverage the technological advantages of its artificial intelligence base to continuously optimize the "one-controls-two" gantry crane full-ship automated operation mode, conduct ongoing technical iterations, and drive the intelligent upgrade of dry bulk terminals to new heights, helping China's dry bulk port industry advance toward higher quality, higher efficiency, and greater safety and environmental protection.
