In the first two days of the National Day holiday, Nanjing's cultural and tourism market got off to a vibrant start with numerous highlights.
According to the Nanjing Smart Tourism Big Data Monitoring Platform, during the first two days of the National Day holiday (October 1-2), monitored sites including scenic spots, cultural and museum venues, rural tourism sites, and national-level nighttime cultural and tourism consumption cluster areas across the city received a total of 5.078 million visitors.
On the second day of the holiday, monitored sites including scenic spots, cultural and museum venues, rural tourism sites, and national-level nighttime cultural and tourism consumption cluster areas across the city welcomed 2.945 million visitors. Scenic spots received 1.538 million visitors; cultural and museum venues received 213,000 visitors; and 85 rural tourism monitoring sites received 220,000 visitors.
Among them, out-of-town tourists accounted for 65.9%. The top ten provinces and municipalities in terms of out-of-province visitor sources were Anhui, Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangdong, Henan, Shanghai, Hebei, Beijing, Hubei, and Jiangxi.
The top five scenic spots by visitor reception were: Confucius Temple-Qinhuai Scenic Belt, Zhongshan Scenic Area, Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area, Hongshan Forest Zoo, and Niushoushan Cultural Tourism Zone.
The Hua Chenyu concert at Tangshan Music Valley welcomed 40,000 fans, the Jasmine National Day Water Fireworks Show at Jinniu Lake Scenic Area received 10,000 visitors, and the Huahuo Qingcheng Fireworks Show at Happy Valley Scenic Area received 7,000 visitors.
On the second day of the holiday, the average occupancy rate of key monitored hotels across the city was 89.4%. Several hotels, including Kempinski Hotel, Purple Mountain Villa, Sheraton Jinling Hotel, and Suning Zhongshan International Golf Hotel, were fully booked.
UnionPay Merchant Services data showed that on October 1, Nanjing's total cultural and tourism consumption reached 1.64 billion yuan, with out-of-town cultural and tourism consumption amounting to 1.05 billion yuan.
Tuniu platform data showed that Nanjing ranked among the top domestic travel destinations on the first day of the National Day holiday; Qunar Travel data showed that Nanjing was a popular city for hotel check-ins on the first day of the National Day holiday.
This National Day holiday, Nanjing has prepared cultural and tourism offerings covering "the entire city, the entire region, and all time periods," with a total of 193 cultural, commercial, tourism, sports, and performance events launched across the city, including 65 key cultural and tourism activities, 126 commercial district events, and 2 large-scale exhibitions.
