Lam Research's stock surged 5.01% in pre-market trading, marking a significant recovery for the semiconductor equipment maker. This upward movement represents a rebound from recent sharp declines in the sector.

The pre-market surge follows a brutal two-day selloff that saw the stock plunge over 15%, triggered by Meta's decision to sell surplus computing power which raised concerns about AI infrastructure overcapacity, compounded by CEO Mark Zuckerberg's admission that AI agent development had not progressed as expected. The current bounce represents a broad sector-wide oversold recovery, with other semiconductor equipment companies also showing gains.

Institutional support provided additional momentum, with multiple investment banks maintaining or raising price targets well above current levels. Goldman Sachs raised its target price to $380 from $290, while Morgan Stanley adjusted its target to $404 from $331. Other firms including BofA Securities, Wells Fargo, and Susquehanna maintain positive ratings with targets ranging from $450 to $480, providing fundamental support for the recovery.
