Stock Track | Shanghai Electric Soars 5.26% Intraday on Nuclear Fusion Breakthroughs and Institutional Buy Rating

Stock Track
May 19

Shanghai Electric's stock soared 5.26% during Tuesday's intraday trading session, significantly outperforming the broader market.

The surge comes as the controlled nuclear fusion sector continues to gain momentum, with China's fourth-generation thorium-based molten salt reactor recently completing construction and achieving thorium-uranium conversion. Shanghai Electric, as the only domestic company covering all fourth-generation nuclear power technology routes, has broken through 700°C high-temperature molten salt corrosion protection technology and has orders lined up through 2028.

Additionally, the company is deeply involved in national key nuclear fusion projects including ITER and BEST, and recently received an institutional Buy rating citing sufficient new signed orders in traditional business and potential volume growth in gas turbine operations.
