2X NVIDIA ETP (07788) surged over 7% in morning trading, climbing 7.64% to 169 Hong Kong dollars with a trading volume of 83.53 million Hong Kong dollars.

During a SpaceX investor conference call on August 4, CEO Elon Musk announced that the company has decided to exclusively use NVIDIA technology for its AI compute infrastructure. Musk stated that SpaceX considers NVIDIA's Vera Rubin architecture to be "the best AI computer currently available." The company plans to begin launching Starmind satellites next year, which will be equipped with NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale systems, extending AI computing capabilities into low Earth orbit.

Musk also revealed that SpaceX expects its computing capacity to exceed 2 gigawatts (GW) by the end of this year, approaching 10 GW by the end of next year. The company intends to deploy NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-level systems both on the ground and in space, primarily for the Starmind satellite project, with satellite launches expected to begin next year.

Additionally, SpaceX's capital expenditure has significantly increased. The company's second-quarter capital spending reached approximately 184 billion US dollars, compared to just 28.3 billion US dollars during the same period last year. AI-related capital expenditure accounted for about 158 billion US dollars, representing 86% of total capital spending.
