特斯拉仍计划于 4 月 10 日在沙特阿拉伯首都利雅得举办一场发布会，展示其电动汽车以及太阳能驱动的产品。公告中还提到，特斯拉将在活动中展示其未来自动驾驶技术的愿景，包括与 Cybercab 的互动体验，以及展示其人形机器人 Optimus，向公众呈现人工智能和机器人技术的最新发展成果，但并未明确说明这些产品何时将在沙特阿拉伯正式上市销售。
沙特阿拉伯近年来一直在努力推动经济多元化，减少对石油的依赖。其主权财富基金是电动汽车初创公司 Lucid Group 的主要投资者之一，该公司正在寻求挑战特斯拉在电动汽车市场的主导地位。2023 年，《华尔街日报》曾报道称沙特阿拉伯正在与特斯拉就建立工厂进行初步谈判，但马斯克对此消息予以否认。
