The MSCI Asia Pacific Index dropped 2.1%, following a sharp decline in the "Magnificent Seven" tech stocks on Wall Street. This sell-off was triggered by escalating investor concerns over massive capital expenditures in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector.
Key contributors to the index's decline include tech heavyweights Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, both of which fell by more than 7%, while Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) also saw its shares drop over 2%.
