GenusPlus Group Ltd (ASX:GNP) saw its shares soar 5.11% during intraday trading on Friday, following the announcement of a significant new contract.
The surge comes after the company secured a turnkey engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPC) contract worth approximately AU$110 million. The contract is for the Koolunga Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in South Australia, which will deliver a 200-megawatt system with 800 megawatt-hours of storage capacity.
Construction on the project is scheduled to begin soon, with all necessary approvals already secured, and is targeted for completion by September 2027. The project represents a major order for the company and is a key driver behind the positive investor sentiment reflected in the stock's price movement.
