9.5% Growth in Humanoid Robot Ventures: 116,000 New Enterprises in First Half of 2026

Data released by the State Administration for Market Regulation on August 8th reveals that in the first half of 2026, enterprises in new industries and emerging tracks continued to gain momentum.

New enterprises in the humanoid robot sector reached 116,000, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%. The service sector demonstrated notable highlights, while the transformation of manufacturing enterprises accelerated, creating a vibrant industrial landscape.

Drive in New Industries and Emerging Tracks

In the first half of the year, 561,000 new enterprises were established across the "8 major emerging industries and 9 future industries," maintaining a stable growth trend. Several cutting-edge fields experienced explosive growth. The generative artificial intelligence sector saw 55,000 new enterprises, a 28.0% increase year-on-year. The humanoid robot sector added 116,000 new enterprises, up 9.5% from the previous year.

Service Sector Highlights

The service sector recorded 3.957 million new enterprises, the same level as the same period last year. Traditional commerce and trade enterprises grew steadily, with the wholesale and retail sector adding 1.737 million new enterprises, a 2.9% increase year-on-year. New forms of consumption are vibrant: the "silver economy" industry registered 31,000 new related enterprises, up 16.0% year-on-year. The cultural tourism industry saw 1.475 million new related enterprises, maintaining a relatively fast growth momentum. The number of "Famous, Special, Excellent, and New" individual businesses reached 184,000.

High-tech services are expanding rapidly. The information transmission, software, and information technology services sector added 322,000 new enterprises, a 3.3% increase year-on-year. The inspection and testing service sector added 16,000 new enterprises, growing by 43.9%. The scientific and technological achievement transformation service sector added 459,000 new enterprises, an increase of 6.8%.

Accelerated Transformation of Manufacturing Enterprises

The equipment manufacturing industry is advancing towards the high end. The high-end equipment manufacturing sector added 28,000 new enterprises, a 2.5% increase year-on-year. Among them, the intelligent equipment manufacturing industry grew by 6.4%, and the urban rail equipment manufacturing industry grew by 4.4%.

The high-tech manufacturing industry showed strong growth momentum. By the end of June, the total number of high-tech manufacturing enterprises reached 330,000, with 15,000 new ones established in the first half of the year. Specifically, the spacecraft and launch vehicle manufacturing sector saw a 185.7% year-on-year increase in new enterprises, the optical fiber and cable manufacturing sector grew by 129.4%, and the integrated circuit manufacturing sector increased by 24.2%.
