China Renewable Energy Investment Limited (CRE) has issued a profit warning, indicating an expected net loss of HK$9.00 million to HK$10.00 million for the six months ended 30 June 2026. This marks a reversal from the HK$31.00 million net profit recorded in the same period of 2025, implying a year-on-year swing of roughly HK$40.00 million.
The board attributed the downturn primarily to two operational headwinds:
1. Lower wind resources during the period; and 2. A higher curtailment rate, which restricted electricity output from the Group’s wind farms.
Management emphasised that the figures are based on unaudited consolidated management accounts and remain subject to review by external auditors and the audit committee. Finalised interim results are scheduled for release by end-August 2026 in accordance with Hong Kong Listing Rules.
CRE advised shareholders and potential investors to exercise caution when dealing in the Company’s shares until the interim results are formally announced.
