From November 3 to 7, the Qinghai Atmospheric Detection Technology Support Center, in collaboration with the China Meteorological Administration's Meteorological Observation Center, successfully completed the operational acceptance test for the Xining Dabanshan weather radar. This marks the official completion of Qinghai's first CD-type dual-polarization weather radar, which has now met the operational requirements.

The radar incorporates advanced technologies such as a C-band large antenna and dual-linear polarization, representing the highest technical standards in China's meteorological radar construction. As a key achievement in advancing the high-quality development of the plateau weather radar network, the successful deployment of this radar fills the gap in dual-polarization radar monitoring in eastern Qinghai.

Located at the summit of Dabanshan Mountain at an altitude of 4,070 meters, the Xining Dabanshan Radar Station covers living areas for over half of the province's population. It will significantly enhance the monitoring and early warning capabilities for severe weather in the Hehuang Valley and Qilian Mountain regions.
