Prudential plc announced that on Jun, 01 2026 it repurchased 445,672 ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange at prices ranging between roughly S$17.9 and S$18.3 per share, for a total consideration of about S$8.1 million. All of the shares are scheduled to be cancelled.
The transaction was executed under the company’s existing buyback mandate approved on May, 14 2025, which authorises the repurchase of up to 262.7 million shares. Following this latest purchase, Prudential has bought back approximately 93.6 million shares, equivalent to 3.59% of the outstanding shares at the time the mandate was granted.
Separately, 965,643 shares bought on May, 28 2026 were cancelled on Jun, 01 2026, trimming the firm’s issued share capital to 2,519,523,354 shares from 2,520,488,997. A further 931,961 shares repurchased on May, 29 2026 and Jun, 01 2026 remain pending cancellation.
Under exchange rules, Prudential is barred from issuing new shares or transferring any treasury shares until Jul, 01 2026.
