MetaOptics Ltd Unveils U.S. Expansion and 127 μm Co-Packaged Optics Prototype

Oct, 29 2025 – MetaOptics Ltd (9MT) announced the incorporation of MetaOptics Inc. in Nevada, marking the Singapore-headquartered metalens specialist’s first operating entity in the United States.

The company said the new unit will support customers in 5G smartphones, data communications, data centers, fiber optics, AI semiconductor manufacturing and consumer electronics across North America.

Concurrently, MetaOptics has produced a prototype 127 μm-diameter co-packaged optical component designed to integrate electrical and optical functions for high-bandwidth, energy-efficient interconnects in data-center and AI hardware.

MetaOptics has also begun talks with an unnamed U.S. university to co-develop tunable metalens technology and is in discussion with several U.S. technology companies for potential partnerships.

The firm will showcase its developments at CES 2026 in Las Vegas (Jan, 06–09 2026), including a 12-inch wafer carrying a 5-megapixel rectangular metalens, a second-generation thinner Pico Projector, and a 6 mm-thin 5G Metalens Smart Phone prototype featuring a color imaging metalens camera and a 3D non-contact fingerprint sensor.
