On July 24th, the Lijiang Media Center's junior reporter team visited the Lijiang Antong Youth Drone Science and Innovation Center for a unique practical experience in drone technology. Through theoretical learning, model assembly, and hands-on flight operations, the young reporters got a close-up look at the appeal of drone technology, fostering their interest in science through experiential exploration.

A drone science popularization class was held at the event site. Center staff delivered an engaging lesson on the basic structure and operating principles of drones, introducing their applications in fields such as agricultural plant protection, film and television aerial photography, industrial inspection, and emergency rescue. The staff also explained relevant laws, regulations, and safety guidelines for drone flight, guiding the young reporters to develop a sense of standardized and safe operation. The classroom interaction was lively, with the young reporters actively thinking and asking questions.

Following the theoretical session, the practical activities began. The young reporters were divided into three groups to rotate through three projects: assembling a powered model airplane, using a drone simulator, and controlling a real drone. During the assembly phase, they built the fuselage frame and assembled the power system themselves, gaining a more intuitive understanding of the aircraft's structure. In the simulator zone, the young reporters focused intently on the screen, practicing takeoff, hovering, and turning in a simulated environment. For the real drone operation, under the careful guidance of the staff, the young reporters held the remote control and successfully completed maneuvers such as takeoff, obstacle crossing, and precise landing, immersing themselves in the joy of flight and becoming "little pilots."

The center's director, Mu Peijuan, stated that the goal of this activity was to help the young reporters deepen their understanding of drones and experience the charm of scientific innovation and the power of technology. The center will continue to focus on drone science education for youth and welcomes more young people to visit and experience the unique allure of technological innovation.
