这将是新任首席执行官陈立武（Lip-Bu Tan）自上月执掌公司以来首次重大重组。此前，英特尔在去年8月宣布裁员约1.5万人，占当时员工总数的15%。截至2024年底，英特尔员工人数从上年同期的124,800人缩减至108,900人。
在英特尔近年来节节败退于竞争对手后，陈立武力求重振这家标志性芯片制造商。
这位楷登电子系统公司的资深人士承诺，将剥离非核心资产，打造更具吸引力的产品。上周，该公司同意将可编程芯片部门Altera的51%股权出售给银湖管理公司，朝着这一目标迈出一步。
陈立武上个月在英特尔Vision大会上表示，公司需要补充流失的工程人才、改善资产负债表，并根据潜在客户需求优化制造流程。
英特尔定于周四公布第一季度业绩。
