Fuling District Market Supervision Bureau Strengthens Implementation of Online Medical Device Sales Quality Management Standards

In recent days, the Fuling District Market Supervision Bureau in Chongqing has taken multiple measures to actively promote and implement the "Online Medical Device Sales Quality Management Standards" (hereinafter referred to as the "Standards").

The bureau promptly compiled the "Standards" and related policy interpretations into booklets, which were then distributed free of charge by grassroots market supervision offices to online medical device businesses in the region. During the distribution process, staff provided on-site explanations to practitioners about the main content of the "Standards" and how to enhance quality management in online medical device sales. To date, over 500 copies of promotional materials have been distributed, and nearly 100 on-site consultations have been conducted for industry professionals.

On October 29, the bureau organized a training session on the "Standards," targeting heads and quality managers of online medical device sales enterprises, as well as regulatory personnel from various market supervision offices. The session focused on quality management in online medical device sales. Relevant officials emphasized that all online medical device sales businesses must strictly comply with the "Standards" and conduct sales activities in accordance with the law. Additionally, law enforcement personnel were instructed to strengthen supervision and promptly address violations such as failing to display enterprise qualifications and product information or neglecting to establish sales and transportation records.

To ensure effective implementation of the "Standards," the bureau launched a centralized inspection campaign in late October targeting the online medical device sales market. Officials stated that the inspections aimed not only to regulate market order but also to further promote the "Standards." Starting in November, the bureau will conduct follow-up inspections and additional rectifications. Businesses found violating the "Standards" will face severe penalties as per the law.
