IT之家 11 月 30 日消息，三星宣布，将扩大对日本主要电信运营商 NTT DoCoMo 的 5G 电信设备供应。这家韩国公司将提供 5G 基站，支持该网络运营商提供 5G 服务的所有主要频段。
这两家公司在 2021 年 3 月签署了合同，现在已经扩大协议。日本的人口密度很高，NTT DoCoMo 在全国拥有超过 8400 万用户，因此使用的网络通信设备稳定性将至关重要。由于 NTT DoCoMo 续签了合同，这表明三星网络的产品即使在人口密集的地区也被证明是可靠的。
IT之家获悉，作为续约合同的一部分，三星网络将提供其新的超轻、紧凑的 5G 无线电装置，支持 28GHz 超高频段（mmWave）和 sub-6GHz 5G 频段。其重量只有 4.5 公斤，可以很容易地安装在城市和人口稠密地区。
三星电子日本网络业务总经理 Satoshi Iwao 表示：“移动通信设备市场的关键是运营商和供应商之间建立长期的信任关系，并共同投资于下一代技术。我们将通过提供基于技术实力的优秀 5G 产品，共同推进 NTT DoCoMo 的 5G 网络的建设。”
