Designer Brands Inc. said Thursday that Chief Executive Roger Rawlins would step down on April 1.

The Columbus, Ohio-based shoes and accessories retailer said DSW President Doug Howe would succeed Mr. Rawlins as CEO at that time.

Mr. Howe joined the company in May, after four years as chief merchandising officer at Kohl's Corp., Designer Brands said. Before that, Mr. Howe worked for Qurate Retail Group, Gap Inc. and Walmart Inc., the company said.

Mr. Rawlins has been CEO since January 2016 and will serve as a strategic adviser through March 2024, Designer Brands said.

The company also reiterated its fiscal 2022 guidance for earnings per share of $1.75 to $1.80.
