智通财经APP获悉，花旗发布研究报告称，香港银行股年初至今上升14%，与恒指表现大致相符，相信主要受到内地更广泛疫情政策优化所支持。其中，由于估值更为吸引，加上资本回报上升空间及盈利能力改善，汇丰控股(00005)及渣打集团(02888)股价表现跑赢本地同业。
该行表示，从基本面而言，随着存款竞争加剧，香港银行的净息差可能于去年第四季接近见顶，而与内房相关拨备料于去年下半年继续造成影响，但估计有关减值今年将大幅减少。花旗继续视汇丰控股为行业首选，认为集团今年将提供更好的资本回报上行空间，并有强劲盈利增长。假如渣打集团今年能达成目标为实现10%有形股本回报，较计划提早一年达成，股价有上行可能。
