0846 ET - BP's $1.3B deal to buy TravelCenters of America gives a jolt to the electric-vehicle market, as both recently unveiled plans to expand the number of charging stations available to US drivers. TravelCenters said it is teaming with Electrify America to install around 1,000 individual chargers at 200 locations along major US highways over five years. BP, which has dubbed EV charging one of its five strategic energy-transition growth engines, on Wednesday said it plans to plow $1B into charge points across the US by 2030. (colin.kellaher@wsj.com)
