快科技12月7日消息，据国内媒体报道，苹果公司负责触摸屏技术、健康传感器、Face ID交互的副总裁史蒂夫·霍特林（Steve Hotelling）宣布辞职退休。
在苹果公司，霍特林发明了iPhone的屏幕以及大家熟知的Touch ID。
据了解，2013年9月，苹果发布首款支持指纹识别的机型——iPhone 5s，并因该功能入选美国《商业内幕》“本年度最具创新力的十大设备”。
从iPhone 5s开始到iPhone 8系列均使用了Touch ID，其指纹识别模块为iPhone经典的实体Home键。
然而在2017年9月发布iPhone X后，苹果砍掉了经典的Home键，正式进入全面屏时代，并配备安全性更高的Face ID，全面取代Touch ID。
Face ID搭载环境光传感器、距离感应器、红外镜头、泛光感应元件、点阵投影器，共同搭建用户3D脸部模型。
在iOS 15.4更新中，苹果加入了支持佩戴口罩解锁Face ID的功能，设置完成后就能戴着口罩解锁iPhone。
