Anew Medical's (WENA) shares surged past 138% amid heavy trading after it said Wednesday that it received a European patent for its Klotho gene sequence and gene delivery systems to treat diminished cognition, memory loss, dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases.
Almost 79.1 million shares traded intraday versus a daily average of roughly 218,000.
Ocean Power Technologies (OPTT) disclosed Wednesday an agreement in principle for a "sole source" contract to deliver multiple Wave Adaptive Modular Vehicles to a US government department.
"Due to the sensitive nature of this relationship, terms have not been disclosed," the company said.
Shares soared nearly 54% as intraday trading volume catapulted to over 366.1 million from a daily average of about 2.81 million.
Rivian Automotive (RIVN) will receive up to $5 billion in investments from Volkswagen to create an equally controlled joint venture on electric vehicle architecture and software technology, the companies said late Tuesday.
Shares jumped over 20% as intraday trading volume advanced to more than 205.6 million from a daily average of about 37 million.
